Day 5: 15 Sep 25 - Pemberton
Pemberton is a picturesque timber town surrounded by stunning tall trees, and that’s where we’re headed today.
This morning, we explore the “Valley of the Giants.” Amidst the mystic tingle foliage is the tree top walk that provides amazing views over the forest canopy. Meandering through the trees opens up a world of birds and flowers most people never see. We then take a scenic ride on the Pemberton Tram, where we’ll pass the sawmill and descend deep into the Karri Forest. It’s a sensory experience as we witness wildflowers
crawling across the forest floor, the sound of native birds, and the smell of fresh eucalyptus. The tram meanders through the forest, crossing bridges and stopping at Cascades and the Warren River Bridge. Our tram returns
to Pemberton, and we continue our journey, stopping at the famous Gloucester Tree, which stands at a
staggering 61 meters and is reputed to be the tallest tree-mounted fire lookout in the world.
