Today you will drive to the Corinth Canal before enjoying a brief stop at Epidaurus to visit the ancient theatre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics. You will then proceed to Nafplio – the first capital of modern Greece – then drive through the plains of Argos to Mycenae. On arrival you will visit the archaeological site – the Tomb of Agamemnon. Also known as the Treasury of Atreus is an impressive “tholos” tomb on the Panagitsa Hill constructed during the Bronze Age around 1250 BC. The In the afternoon, depart for Olympia (the birth place of the Olympic Games), through the cities of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Dinner and overnight in Olympia. (D)

Visit the archaeological site of the home of the first Olympic Games. View the Sanctuary of Zeus, Olympic Stadium and the museum. Afterwards, depart for Rion via Patras, crossing the Corinth Bay via the new bridge. Pass by the city of Nafpaktos where, in Greek legend, Heraclitus built a fleet to invade the Peloponnese. Continue along the coastal road drive to Delphi, known in ancient times as the omphalos (navel) of the earth or centre of the world. In the afternoon, visit the picturesque mountain villa of Arachova before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay in Delphi. (B, D)
