Arrive at Rome Fiumicino airport, transfer to the hotel by a private car and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the Eternal City. In case of an early arrival in Rome, it is possible to participate in optional activities, such as a cooking lesson to learn how to make pizza, pasta or ice cream. After breakfast, board a high-speed train to Florence; the journey takes about 1h 30’. In the afternoon, explore on your own with a walk through the streets of the heart of the city, ‘cradle of the Renaissance’. Perhaps join a guided walking tour that visits Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio with the goldsmiths’ shops, or visit the Uffizi Galleries, with the masterpieces of the masters of the Italian Renaissance or the Accademia Gallery, which houses the original of Michelangelo’s famous statue of David. Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will have the chance to discover the famous Chianti area and its rolling hills with a half day tour from Florence. This tour will allow you to get away from the noise and crowds of the city and enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the world-famous Tuscan countryside. Your journey through the Chianti wine region begins with a visit to a beautiful family-run estate, whose belief is that making beautiful wine is an art. Have the opportunity to walk around the small vineyards on the hills above Greve in Chianti, where the family produces their fine Chianti wines, and explore the cellars while learning about the wine making and aging process. After breakfast at the hotel, board the regional train to Monterosso with change in Pisa or La Spezia. The journey takes about 3h. Monterosso is the starting city to explore the famous Cinque Terre, the stretch of coast with 5 fishing villages perched over the sea: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. The two-day Cinque Terre Train Card is included, which allows access to the National Park area and the use of regional trains that connect the villages and of local buses.
