Hike the Mediterranean Steps
From the pier, take a short drive to the start of the Mediterranean Steps, a historic trail originally constructed by the British military during World War II. This scenic path winds along the limestone cliffs and offers opportunities to spot the Gibraltar Campion, a rare and endangered flower unique to the area. In spring, the trail also becomes a corridor for migratory birds, making it a favorite among nature enthusiasts. At the summit (1,398 feet), take in breathtaking views of the Strait of Gibraltar, Windmill Hill, Europa Point, the Great Sand Dune, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Spanish Costa del Sol. Don’t forget your camera—this is a vantage point unlike any other. After soaking in the views, walk to the Upper Cable Car Station for a scenic descent back to town. At the base, receive a commemorative "I climbed to the top of the Rock, by foot" certificate, marking your achievement.
