Munich’s Christmas Market will draw you into the season before Salzburg carries that Christmas feeling into the Alps. Here, Glühwein warms your hands while the scent of roasted nuts, spice and sweet pastries draws you through the market beside snow-capped spires. Your Local Specialist connects the city’s music-filled streets with Mozart’s story before a traditional dining experience at Swarovski Crystal World, where sparkling installations play with light and colour. In Freiburg, medieval cobbles are underfoot as you pass steep-roofed houses and painted shutters. Further west in Strasbourg, France’s oldest Christmas market welcomes you with the sweet scent of cinnamon drifting along streets lined with half-timbered façades.
