From Amsterdam, narrow canals open to wide pastures, with windmills reflected in the water. Beside the Rhine, you follow the river beneath hilltop castles and vineyard-striped slopes, then pause on Lake Lucerne’s shore, where you may hear church bells travel across the water towards the mountains. In Paris, you might catch the scent of warm bread from boulangeries, walk beside the Seine and settle at a pavement cafe beneath pale stone façades.
Iconic Experience
- Amsterdam: Led by your Travel Director, wander the city to see the floating flower market, Dam Square and the Royal Palace.
- Rhineland: Cruise beneath semi-ruined castles and terraced vineyards. Sleepy villages slip by as you saunter upstream to the Lorelei Rock where the enchantress lured sailors to their doom.
- Rhine Falls: See Europe’s largest waterfall as the Rhine River surges over the cliffs in a powerful natural display.
- Lucerne: During an orientation with your Travel Director, see the Lion Monument, Old Town Hall and Chapel Bridge, the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe.
- Paris: With your Travel Director, you’ll wander through the heart of Paris along its grand boulevards, ornate balconies overhead as cream-stone buildings and tree-lined avenues stretch towards the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées.
