Day 1 - Home [Plane] Darwin
Our journey begins with a flight to Darwin, the capital of Australia's Top End.
On arrival we are met and transferred to our hotel on the Darwin Waterfront for a three-night stay. The rest of the day is at leisure.

The arrival airport transfer to the hotel is included, by private chauffeur. Please make your way through the terminal in a timely manner after landing so the chauffeur is not held up.Final travel documentation will be provided approximately 30 days prior to departure.
Day 2 - Litchfield National Park
After breakfast we set out for Litchfield National Park. We walk through monsoon forest to the plunge pools of Florence Falls, see Tolmer and Wangi Falls, and pass the towering termite mounds the area is known for. There is time to swim at the falls.

Your travel time today will be approximately 4 hours.
This day tour has a balanced level of fitness. National park fees are included, and a National Territory Parks Pass is provided as part of the tour.
What to bring: comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, a water bottle, and swimmers and a towel if swimming.
Day 3 - Kakadu National Park
After breakfast we travel along the Arnhem Highway to World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, around 250 kilometres east of Darwin. We visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre, then join a cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong to look for saltwater crocodiles and birdlife.
After lunch we stop at Burrungkuy (Nourlangie), where our guide leads a walk to view Aboriginal rock art.

Your travel time today will be approximately 7 hours.
A moderate level of fitness is required for the Nourlangie Lookout walk. The national park ticket is included.
What to bring: a water bottle of at least one litre, enclosed walking shoes, sun protection and warm layers in cooler months.
This morning after breakfast we check out and transfer to the Darwin Wharf to board the Paul Gauguin, our transfer included. We settle into our stateroom as we begin our South Pacific voyage.

Day 7 - Thursday Island [Ship]
We call at Thursday Island in the Torres Strait, between the tip of Cape York and Papua New Guinea, with its pearling history and island community.
We arrive in Alotau in Papua New Guinea, set on Milne Bay, a gateway to the region's wartime history and coastal villages.
Day 10 - Samarai Island [Ship]
We call at Samarai Island, a small former colonial trading port off the eastern tip of Papua New Guinea.
We arrive in Honiara on Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands, and stay overnight. The town is known for its Second World War history and its central market.

We have a further day in Honiara before sailing on.
Day 16 - Paradise Lagoon, Espiritu Santo [Ship]
We call at Paradise Lagoon on Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu, known for its clear water, blue holes and Second World War sites.
Day 17 - Port Vila [Ship]
We arrive in Port Vila on Efate, Vanuatu's capital, set around a harbour with markets and nearby lagoons.
A day at sea as we make our way towards Fiji.
This morning we disembark the Paul Gauguin in Lautoka, on Fiji's main island of Viti Levu. We make our own way to the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa for a two-night stay.
The rest of the day is at leisure to relax at the resort.
Special Information
Transfers in Fiji are not included, including the transfer from the ship to the hotel.
We have the day to relax at the resort or explore the Nadi area at our own pace, perhaps the local markets or a nearby beach.
The evening is at leisure.
Day 23 - Nadi [Plane] Home
After our final morning in Fiji we make our own way to Nadi airport for our return flight home.
