Your New Zealand journey begins in Auckland. Here, you will be met and transferred to your premium hotel.
Day 2 - Auckland, Waitomo, Rotorua
Explore the fascinating Waitomo Caves, then continue to the geothermal capital of Rotorua. Visit Te Puia, enjoy a guided tour of the Maori Arts & Crafts Institute and see Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley before a special dinner feast.
Explore the Agrodome, with its sheep shearing demonstration, dog trials and animal nursery.
Day 4 - Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington
Travel the Thermal Explorer Highway. Visit Lake Taupo and Huka Falls, then arrive in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. This tightly-knit city is home to a stunning waterfront promenade, sandy beaches, and quaint colourful timber houses on the surrounding hills.
Day 5 - Wellington, Christchurch
Today you cross Cook Strait on a spectacular ferry trip before continuing your journey onwards to Christchurch.
Day 6 - Christchurch, TranzAlpine Train, Fox Glacier
Ride the iconic TranzAlpine train, then drive through the Southern Alps, home to the Franz Josef/Ka Roimata o Hine Hukatere and Fox glaciers, as well as spectacular lakes and rainforests.
Day 7 - Fox Glacier, Queenstown
Travel across the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps through Haast Pass to the alpine resort of Queenstown on Lake Wakatipu.
Soar to the top of a Queenstown peak and check out the view as all of Queenstown spreads below you. Following this, enjoy lunch at one of the FergFoods restaurants located throughout the city centre (Fergburger, Fergsbar, Mrs. Ferg & FergBaker). The rest of the day is at leisure, so perhaps try a select experience.
Day 9 - Queenstown, Milford Sound/Piopiotahi, Te Anau
Follow The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu to the tranquil beauty of the Fiordland National Park, where Milford Sound/Piopiotahi awaits. Afterwards, continue to lakeside Te Anau.
Day 10 - Te Anau, Dunedin
Today you will journey through rolling Southland countryside before arriving in the city of Dunedin. Known as the ‘Edinburgh of the South’, Dunedin was planned in Scotland and still maintains its grand Victorian heritage. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour.
Day 11 - Dunedin, Aoraki/Mount Cook, Lake Tekapo
See the Moeraki Boulders and visit Oamaru to see some of New Zealand’s finest 19th-century architecture. Later, journey into Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. You’ll then arrive this afternoon at your hotel, situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Tekapo and right in the heart of Mackenzie Country.
Day 12 - Lake Tekapo, Depart Christchurch
Visit the tiny Church of the Good Shepherd and take in unparalleled views of Lake Tekapo and the magnificent alpine surroundings. Afterwards, the time has come to bid farewell to your Tour Director and new-found friends as you are then transferred to the airport for your onward adventure.
