Today we are doing all things local in Winton!
Learn how Australian transport pioneers carved our transport network at the Heritage Truck and Machinery Museum. Enjoy a town tour discovering the quirky Arno’s Wall and play a tune on what is believed to be the world’s only musical fence. We will visit the Waltzing Matilda Centre, a museum that tells the story of Waltzing Matilda, Australia’s unofficial national anthem, the Winton region and the Outback.
Mid-afternoon, we take a short drive out of town to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum, perched high on a spectacular mesa (majestic flat top hills). Join a guided interpretive tour of the laboratory and collection room.
Take in the moment at our very special sunset barbecue overlooking the plains where dinosaurs once roamed before being immersed in the Gondwana Observatory night experience.
