Get set for a nine-day family adventure that combines the wonders of the Amazon Jungle with the fascinating history of Machu Picchu. Along with the young ones you’ll stay in a jungle lodge, cruise along rivers, go searching for animals and take a traditional Amazonian archery lesson. Head into the Sacred Valley, stopping in at a local community to learn about textile techniques (and for a photo op or two with some llamas). Then reach the dazzling peaks of Machu Picchu, taking a guided tour to learn about the ‘Lost City of the Inca’. Peru’s is sure to leave an impression on the whole family!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. FAMILY TRIPS: This trip is for adults and children travelling together and there must be at least one child under 18 with you.
2. MINIMUM AGE: Minimum age for children on this trip is 5 years old unless otherwise approved by Intrepid.
3. CHILD PRICE: Children aged 17 years and under at time of travel on this trip, are eligible to receive 20% off the full adult price.
4. SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: A single supplement is available for adults who would like to confirm a solo room. The single supplement is on request and subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
5. PASSPORT DETAILS: Full passport details are necessary for all passengers when booking, but it's especially important for those aged 17 and under (at the time of entering Machu Picchu) due to the varied rates of tickets which are dependent on the child's age and require accurate information.
6. TRANSFERS: A complimentary airport arrival transfer is included; valid if you are arriving on Day 1 or if you have booked pre-tour accommodation through us. You must provide your flight details to your booking agent at least 14 days prior to travel.
7. MACHU PICCHU: According to Machu Picchu visiting regulations all visitors must follow a pre-determined circuit within the site as a way to relieve crowding. The circuit-based entrance tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. For travellers who opted for the Quarry Trail and Train options we will endeavour to get everyone traveling in a group on the same circuit. Regardless of the circuit you will enjoy the beauty and grandeur of the site. Travellers completing the Inca Trail will enter Machu Picchu via the Sun Gate.
