Day 2 - Russell Falls, Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, Strahan
Discover the magic of Russell Falls in Mount Field National Park today, then continue to the World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, before travelling via the mining town of Queenstown to Strahan. Tonight, savour dinner at View 42° Restaurant & Bar.
Day 3 - Strahan, Gordon River
From the comfort of the Captain’s Premier Upper Deck, glide across Macquarie Harbour and enter the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Stop at Heritage Landing, for a guided rainforest walk. Back on board, you’ll be treated to a delicious lunch of fresh Tasmanian produce before arriving at Tasmania’s World Heritage-listed Sarah Island. Here you’ll get a chilling insight into the cruelties of convict life as you explore the ruins of what was once a convict settlement. Cruise past Hells Gates then return to Strahan. Later, enjoy a live performance at 'The Ship that never was' which is based on a true story about the great convict escape from Sarah Island.
Day 4 - Strahan, Cradle Mountain
Travel from Strahan to the incredible Cradle Mountain. Then, your Freedom of Choice experience awaits.
Day 5 - Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake
This morning, delight in your signature experience with a guided tour of Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park. Later, enjoy a visit to the unique Tasmanian conservation sanctuary, Devils @ Cradle, home to Tasmanian Devils, Spotted-tail and Eastern Quolls. While here, a keeper will walk you through the sanctuary providing an insight into the importance of their conservation programs.
Day 6 - Cradle Mountain, Sheffield, Deloraine, Launceston
Today, travel from Cradle Mountain and stop in Sheffield. Formerly a bustling industrial centre in northwestern Tasmania, Sheffield has undergone a transformation into a thriving arts community. Today, it boasts a landscape adorned with stunning murals, showcasing its artistic renaissance. Then, relish a winter truffle experience at a truffle farm where you’ll cozy up by the fire pit and enjoy a delectable lunch. Later, it’s onto a historic tour of Franklin House, a convict-built home in 1838 that became one of the colony’s leading private schools.
This morning embark on an historic journey on a guided Beaconsfiled Mine tour, before indulging in a delightful Signature Experience in a beautiful setting at Josef Chromy Wines. The remainder of the afternoon will be enjoyed at your leisure.
Day 8 - Launceston, Bridestowe Lavender Estate, Bicheno
After visiting Bridestowe Lavender Estate, traverse Weldborough Pass and admire the views of forested hills and farmland en route to Bicheno, a beautiful seaside town set between the Douglas-Apsley and Freycinet national parks on Tasmania's stunning east coast. Enjoy dinner at your hotel tonight, and if luck is on your side, you may witness the incredible phenomenon of the Aurora Australis southern lights.
Day 9 - Bicheno, Freycinet National Park
After breakfast, travel south to Coles Bay and visit Freycinet National Park Visitor Centre then enjoy more stunning coastal scenery during a guided tour along Cape Tourville before returning to Bicheno for your Signature Experience.
Day 10 - Bicheno, Ross, Richmond, Hobart
Visit the historic towns of Ross and Richmond on your way to Hobart. After arriving in the Tasmanian capital, embark on a guided discovery of the city, which takes you through the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and the heritage district of Battery Point.
Day 11 - Hobart, Port Arthur
Today, explore the Port Arthur Historic Site, Australia’s most intact, evocative and notorious convict prison, on a guided tour. See the famous sandstone Penitentiary then visit the Convict Church and Separate Prison. You'll then step aboard a cruise around the Isle of the Dead and hear haunting stories about the convicts who were transported here from across the world and eventually buried at Port Arthur. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at Mures Upper Deck.
This morning, walk the Salamanca Market and peruse the treasures of Tasmania at more than 300 stalls. Wander through the array of goods from hand-crafted jewellery and carved wooden trinkets to tantalising Tasmanian gin. Afterwards, bid a fond farewell to the Apple Isle. We say goodbye before we transfer you to the airport for your flight.
